More Than 8,000 Malaysians Registered for Free Cybersecurity Training as Online Threats Continue to Rise

Tim Editor, 14/10/2026

With over 3,426 participants completing the program since June 2025, Trainocate Malaysia continues to make essential cybersecurity knowledge more accessible to Malaysians.

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 October 2026 — Trainocate Malaysia, a leading provider of IT and professional development training, has seen more than 8,000 registrations by Malaysians for the free APAC Cybersecurity Fund Malaysia: Cyber Hygiene Essentials training program, which held its first session in June 2025, with more than 3,426 participants having completed the training and received their certificate of completion. The strong participation comes as Malaysians face growing cyber threats in their everyday digital lives.

The initiative is delivered by Trainocate Malaysia as a training provider in collaboration with The Asia Foundation, CyberPeace Institute and Global Cyber Alliance, with support from Google.org, to make practical cybersecurity foundation more accessible to Malaysians.

Designed for everyday internet users, the training covers practical areas such as recognizing phishing attacks and online frauds, creating stronger passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, protecting personal data, and preventing malware.

Unlike technical cybersecurity programs designed for IT professionals, Cyber Hygiene Essentials focuses on everyday digital safety and can help individuals, employees, students, micro and small businesses, nonprofits, and social enterprises.

Participants can choose between live instructor-led virtual training and self-paced online learning. Those who complete the program receive a Certificate of Completion and an RM10 Touch ‘n Go eWallet voucher.

The strong response reflects the growing importance of cybersecurity awareness, with CyberSecurity Malaysia reporting 2,715 cybersecurity incidents in Q2 2026, up 24.09% from the previous quarter, with fraud accounting for 85.23% of reported incidents. As cyber threats continue to evolve, basic cybersecurity knowledge is increasingly becoming a necessary part of everyday digital life.

Check out the upcoming session:

Date: 24 October 2026 (Saturday)

Time: 10 am – 2 pm (UTC +8)
