By participating in DigiTech ASEAN Thailand 2024, DataLabs aims to raise its profile in the civil engineering and construction industry in Thailand and other Asian countries.

DataLabs Inc. (Headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo;
Daisuke Tajiri, President; hereinafter “DataLabs”) will exhibit at
“DigiTech ASEAN Thailand 2024” in Thailand. By participating in this
exhibition, where the latest digital technologies will be showcased, DataLabs
aims to raise its profile in the civil engineering and construction industry in
Thailand and other Asian countries and accelerate its efforts to forge concrete
alliances.

“Thailand 4.0”
plan and the current state of the construction industry in Thailand

Thailand is currently growing under rapid
urbanization and government infrastructure investment plans. In particular,
transportation infrastructure and urban development are active, with investment
in significant projects such as high-speed rail and road construction to
alleviate increasingly severe traffic congestion and the construction of
airports to accommodate the growing number of international travelers.

The Thai government has announced the economic
reform plan “Thailand 4.0,” aiming to advance industries through
the use of digital technology and innovation, with a strong focus on the
construction sector. The government is
promoting the introduction of the use of 3D data in the construction industry
to increase the efficiency and transparency of construction projects,
emphasizing the digitalization of urban infrastructure and the construction of
smart cities.

Background and Purpose of Exhibiting at
“DigiTech ASEAN Thailand 2024”

Thailand has strong ties to Japan, and Japan has
contributed to developing roads, bridges, and other infrastructure
through ODA. DataLabs also believes that Thailand is one of the most important
countries in Asia and would like to strengthen cooperation in the future. When we spoke at the Japan-Thailand Road Traffic Technology Seminar hosted by the
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism in
February of this year, we received a lot of
interest in our products.

DigiTech ASEAN Thailand 2024 is one of the most
significant technology events in Southeast Asia to be held in Bangkok. Over 350
companies specializing in innovative technologies such as business software,
e-commerce, digital marketing, cybersecurity, data & cloud services, smart
solutions, and AI will be exhibiting at the event. DataLabs will be exhibiting
in the Data & Cloud Services and Business Software category and showcasing
its products “Modely” and “Hatsuly”. DataLabs aims to create new business opportunities by promoting our
solutions to attendees who are highly interested in digitalization in the
construction industry and developing
new business opportunities.

The significant role
of “Modely” and “Hatsuly” in managing Thailand’s aging infrastructure

Starting in the 1970s, Thailand’s construction of social infrastructure, including roads and
bridges, is aging extensively.
In recent years,
more efficient infrastructure maintenance and management is required within a
limited budget. Under these circumstances, “Modely” and
“Hatsuly” are expected to demonstrate high potential in Thailand’s
infrastructure repairs.

Modely is a 3D rebar inspection system that
utilizes point cloud data. The measured inspection items’ actual values are
automatically converted into a report.

Hatsuly is an application that uses 3D data
acquired onsite using a smartphone or tablet to automatically calculate
various  repair items such as crack
length, area, depth, and volume, and even generates reports. The application
aims to establish an infrastructure maintenance system that encompasses repair
surveys, repair work, and maintenance management using 3D data.

Implementing these systems significantly reduces
inspection costs and work time. By utilizing Modely and Hatsuly, DataLabs is
committed to contributing to both Thailand’s infrastructure construction and
repair works and the realization of a sustainable society.
